Bariloche will once again host the FIM Motocross World Championship for the second year in a row in 2027, strengthening the presence of this Patagonian city on the international calendar following its successful debut as a host venue in the 2026 season. MXGP Argentina will take place on March 13-14, and the exclusive pre-sale tickets will begin on October 1.
MXGP Argentina will – once again – be the only round of the Motocross World Championship to be held on the American continent within a calendar comprising 20 rounds. The competition, which will take place in the province of Río Negro, will be the second round of the 2027 season and will once again bring together the world’s best riders in the MXGP and MX2 categories in Bariloche.
Bariloche’s return highlights the growing presence of the MXGP in South America and cements the city’s status as a destination for major international sporting events. The 2026 event generated significant tourism and economic activity for the region, with the arrival of spectators, teams, officials, media and visitors from across the country and around the world.
This continuity has been made possible thanks to the collaboration between the public and private sectors, with the Government of the Province of Río Negro, Bariloche City Council and the Federation of Business Organisations of Bariloche (FEEBA), alongside Infront Moto Racing and +Eventos, joining forces to ensure the return of the Bariloche Grand Prix to the MXGP calendar.
David Luongo, President & CEO, Infront Moto Racing: «Bariloche gave us one of the best openers in recent memory, and bringing MXGP back for 2027 shows the strength of what we’ve built with Rio Negro and the city. Argentina and South America are a real priority for this championship, and this partnership lets us keep growing there on a solid, long-term footing.»
David Eli (+Eventos Director): “It is a huge pleasure to confirm the return of World Motocross Championship to Bariloche. 2026 edition was a true success, and we are confident that 2027 will be even better. We are working alongside the organizing committee to make it happen. Río Negro and San Carlos de Bariloche offer a unique venue, with great tourism potential and first-class infrastructure to host an event of this magnitude. Patagonia is a dream location for the MXGP Argentina, and we are proud to continue bringing this great international event to one of the country’s most iconic regions.”
Alberto Weretilneck, Governor of Río Negro: “It is a great honour for Río Negro and San Carlos de Bariloche to once again welcome the Motocross World Championship. Having a continued presence of MXGP in our region and hosting an international event such as this for the second year in a row is the result of strong collaboration between the public and private sectors, and a community ready to host a top-tier competition that has a direct impact on tourism and the economy. I look forward to welcoming the riders, teams, and everyone who wishes to come and enjoy this competition in a unique environment once again.”
