Bariloche MX Race Track is ready to welcome the world’s best motocross riders. This weekend, the 2026 World Championship season will kick off with the MXGP Argentina YPF, which will be centered in the city of Bariloche. Tomorrow, the pre-event will kick off with an autograph signing session at the Civic Center, while on Saturday and Sunday, the action will be centered at the circuit.

The setting for the most anticipated event of the year for motocross fans couldn’t be better. After months of work, the Bariloche MX Race Track is ready, and on Thursday, several riders began walking the approximately 1,800-meter track, which was designed from scratch by the experienced Gabriel Villada, the mind behind the circuits of almost the entire Motocross World Championship.

“When we arrived a few months ago, the site was all weeds. After clearing it, we designed the track taking into account the direction in which the winds blow so that this would not hinder safety during the competition,” said the Spaniard, adding: “I think the layout has a style of its own, which is whta I try to give to all the circuits I work on, but this sandy soil mixed with some small stones is something you don’t find in Europe, and that gives it a distinctive touch.”

Regarding the characteristics of the design, Villada explained: «It’s a very comprehensiv circuit, fast in some sectors and more technical in others. What I like most are the ups and downs because they are quite sandy and therefore there will be quite a few bumps, which means we are going to see a lot of overtaking.“ In addition, the designer highlighted the good visibility that the spectators will have from the natural grandstands since ”from the upper part you can see the entire circuit.»

Finally, the Track Manager of MXGP Argentina YPF 2026 detailed the last tasks remaining before the start of the event: «In this final stretch, we are working hard on watering and plowing the soil so that the earth is loose and the riders have more grip. This also helps to create bumps and break up the soil. Because on very flat terrain, all riders are good, the differences begin to show when the ground changes,» he said.

This Friday, the run-up to the MXGP Argentina YPF will be celebrated at the civic center in Bariloche.

The circuit is ready, the teams are already set up in the paddock, and the riders are eager to start the season. The Motocross World Championship show is ready to begin, but before the action on the circuit, the stars will enjoy the warmth of the Patagonian fans in the heart of San Carlos de Bariloche.

The leading figures of MXGP and several local riders will participate in an autograph signing session at the city’s Civic Centre. The event will take place from 6pm alongside an incredible freestyle show that will thrill fans on an afternoon of pure adrenaline before the start of the race.
